More than 3.9 million consumers selected Act the federal exchange during the fifth open ,the Department and Human Services (HHS)announced Dec. 23. Total signups reached nearly 6.4 million since the began.

“We still have a lot work to do before the February 15 deadline, but this is an encouraging start,” said HHS SecretarySylvia Burwell. "People shopped for and signed up – finding more choices and greater competition," she added.
During open , HHS is releasing weekly snapshots preliminary data drawn only from the federal exchange, or CuidadodeSalud.gov, and callers to the federal call center at 800-318-2596.
HHS will produce a more detailed report that includes data from the federal exchange as well as state-run exchanges.
The most recent snapshot report showed that % those signing up were new insureds, while 70% were renewing their .
Just over 3.9 million applications were submitted online in the latest , bringing the total to 6.39 that have selected during the .
The site was visited by nearly 4.2 million consumers during the , for a total 14 million since opened. This compares to 160,6 during the for the Spanish-language CuidadodeSalude.gov site, and a total 4,191 for the .
About 2.2 million consumers contacted the call center during the most recent . They waited an average almost 24 minutes hold. Callers seeking a Spanish-speaking representative waited about a minute and a half.
Almost 1.3 million visitors used the “window shopping” tool during the to explore available to them. About 160,000 window shopped CuidadodeSalud.gov.
